American Safety Consultants provides a variety of professional development and training opportunities through The Greater New York Safety Council and the New York City College of Technology.

Free training sponsored by The Greater New York Safety Council

Under a grant from the New York State Occupational Safety & Health Training and Education Program, American Safety offers free courses for both labor and management personnel.

Designed and taught by our team of OSHA approved, highly trained Safety Engineers, these courses will help improve risk reduction and decrease losses for your company. Upon completion, certificates will be issued by GNYSC and/or OSHA when applicable.

General Industry Outreach Training (2 Days) Hazard Communication – Right to Know
How to Prevent Musculoskeletal Injuries & Reduce Back Injuries OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
Permit Required Confined Space Respiratory Protection and Personal Protective Equipment
Road and Highway Safety Safety for Automotive Hybrid Technology
Safety for Automotive Repair and Body Shops Steel Erection
Supported/Suspended Scaffolds & Aerial Trenching & Excavation and Excavation Equipment


Courses are held at the New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn as well as the Consortium for Workers Education office in Brooklyn. Each session is limited to 30 attendees and requires advance registration.

New York City College of Technology

Offered at the Academy for Construction Education and Safety Continuing Studies Center in Brooklyn, these for-credit courses are designed for professionals working toward their Advanced Occupational Safety and Health Certification.

Taught by our team of OSHA approved, professional Safety Engineers, these courses build those skills that increase compliance with regulatory standards, improve productivity and enhance employee participation in safety and health programs.
